Tideward Labs is a one-person software company in California. This page describes every piece of information these pages collect, and the things they deliberately do not.
What these pages do not do
- They set no cookies and use no local storage. There is nothing to consent to.
- They load no analytics, tag manager, session replay, advertising pixel, chat widget or third-party font. Every file these pages request comes from us.
- They do not build a profile of you, and they do not track you across sites.
- We never sell your information, and we never share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
What we collect, and only if you ask us to
Nothing is collected by reading a page. If you choose to submit the interest form, we receive the fields you filled in, and two anti-spam signals your browser measures:
- Your email address — required, so that we can reply to you.
- Your company and your role — optional, so that we know who is asking.
- Your answers to the two multiple-choice questions on the form, which tell us whether the product fits your situation and what price range is realistic.
- The fact that you ticked the consent box, and the date and time you submitted.
- Two anti-spam signals: whether a field hidden from you was filled in, and how many milliseconds passed between your first keystroke and your submission. Automated submissions give both away, and we use them for nothing else.
We use these to tell you when the product is available, to ask you follow-up questions about your needs, and to count how many people are interested. We do not use them for anything else, and we do not add you to any other list.
Confirming your address
After you submit the form we email you a single confirmation link. Your signup counts only once you click it. If you never click it, we hold the unconfirmed record for 90 days and then delete it. We do this so that nobody can add your address to our list without your knowledge, and so that our own numbers are honest.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Your submission is stored in Amazon Web Services in the US West (Oregon) region, in an encrypted database, and your confirmation email is sent through Amazon Simple Email Service. AWS processes this data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. No other company receives it.
We keep a confirmed signup until you ask us to delete it, or until we abandon the product the list was for — whichever comes first. If we abandon a product we delete its whole list and tell you we have done so.
Server logs
Our server records each request to the form so that we can find faults and block abuse. Those logs include your IP address, which we use to rate-limit submissions. Email addresses in our logs are replaced with a one-way hash before they are written, so the logs cannot be read back as a mailing list. Logs are deleted after three months.
Your rights
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of those rights. We extend the same rights to everyone who writes to us, wherever you live. We have no financial incentive programme, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it deletes your record rather than merely flagging it. You can also write to us directly and we will confirm the deletion by reply.
Children
These are tools for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this page we change the date at the top. If a change affects information we already hold about you, we email you before it takes effect.
